1. Damage Waiver covers minor damage

Enterprise says that for US rentals, minor damage such as scratches, dents, or a chipped windshield would be covered by a Damage Waiver, an optional product you can buy with the rental.

What to do: Check your rental agreement to see whether you accepted the Damage Waiver.

2. No waiver? Ask for the evidence

Enterprise says if you didn't buy the Damage Waiver and the car gets damaged, you may have to pay for repairs out of pocket.

What to do: Gather your pickup and return photos and ask for dated damage photos, the repair estimate and an itemized bill before paying.
